Stanley Lee Pritchett built a life on entrepreneurial spirit powered by responsibility, industriousness, generosity of time and energy, and spiritual commitment. Among the youngest machinist apprentices and journeymen at Todd Shipyard, he continued as a machinist, tool and die maker, and manager at American Can Company. Those skills served his lifelong love of ranching and animal husbandry begun in his youth.
Stanley is pre-deceased by his parents, William Stanley Pritchett and Fannie Louise Hewitt Pritchett; his wife Lois Fayrene Gillis Stilley Pritchett and her son John Wayne Stilley; and Doris Ann Norris Pritchett.
He is survived by his sister, Shirley DeLozier; his and Doris Ann’s daughters: Vickie and husband Barry Wood, Chris Duhon, and Sondra and husband Mark Garrett; Lois’s daughter, Cynthia, and husband James Cope; in addition to thirteen grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and their spouses; and friends.
His funeral service will begin at Cason Monk-Metcalf in Nacogdoches at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2020, with visitation available from noon until 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Please consider donations to American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
