Ronald Reynolds was born March 10, 1952 in Houston, Texas to Ellis C. Reynolds, Sr. and Olga M. (Bowman) Reynolds. He passed from this world on June 1, 2024, in Nacogdoches, attaining the age of 72 years, 2 months, 21 days. At the age of nine, Ron and his family moved from Houston to Nacogdoches where he attended and graduated from Central Heights ISD. He was united in marriage with Rebecca Bravo and they would have soon celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Ron and Rebecca raised their family and remained in Nacogdoches until 2012 when they moved out to Weatherford, Texas.
Ron served his country with the United States Marine Corps where he worked as an Aviation Electrical Engineer and attained the rank of Sergeant. He spent 6 months in Viet Nam and 2 years in Hawaii. Here he obtained a cherished “Canary Yellow Mustang” that he (unfortunately) crashed in Marine Corps style! He was proud to have served as a United States Marine. He also took pride in his work in aviation and thought the “F-4” was the greatest plane ever made!
Ron never met a stranger and made friends everywhere he went. He was a very loving and affectionate person, full of hugs and kisses. He was constantly telling his “corny jokes” which brought out his laughter. He loved to laugh. He was a fan of Charles Dickens's work and read many of his books. He loved the way he wrote and expressed himself. Ron was also a fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the Boston Celtics, and he loved watching Sci-Fi.
At the very heart of Ron was his love for The Lord and his family—especially his children and grandchildren. When he talked about them, heard about them or saw them coming, his face lit up like the Christmas tree lights! They were his pride and joy. He and Rebecca spent everyday in devotion and prayer first thing in the morning. The patio was their spot. Coffee & Jesus was what they did!
He is survived by his loving wife, Rebecca; two sons, Jeremy Reynolds and his daughter, Julie, and Bryce Reynolds with his son, Ellis and daughter, Scarlett; one daughter, Brittney Tillery and her husband Daniel with their two sons, Lachlan and Beckett and daughter, Quinn; one brother, Ellis Charles Reynolds, Jr and his wife Carolyn; two sisters, Ruby Reynolds and Sarah Stewart and husband Bill; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his parents, Ellis and Olga Reynolds, Sr.; one brother, Wesley Reynolds; and his daughter-in-law, Robin Reynolds.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at Calvary Baptist Church in Nacogdoches officiated by Ellis Reynolds, Bill Stewart, and Bro. Paul Sevar.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to The Warrior's Journey.
Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.
