Bob grew up in the farming communities of Garrison, Martinsville, and Libby. He attended Martinsville School and graduated from Nacogdoches High School. He joined the United States Air Force in September 1961 and proudly served his country for 23 years. During that time he traveled extensively, visiting over 40 countries.
Mr. Burt raised two daughters, Tammy and Angie. In August 1994, he reconnected with his childhood sweetheart, Peggy, whom he married in January 1995. They were married almost 25 years, with a blended family of five children (one deceased), twenty grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and one more great-grandchild on the way.
Bob’s family would describe him as loving, caring, generous, considerate, giving, and calm. He was non-judgmental, and he would help anyone who needed it. He was a positive, radiating force that was loved by his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. In his spare time he enjoyed reading, gardening, and genealogy. His travels continued even after his time in the Air Force, traveling from one side of the country to the other with Peggy as well as Japan, France, England, Ireland, and Scotland.
Mr. Burt was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Liska Faye Fancher; brother-in-law, James Fancher; and daughter, Tammy Partin.
