In the early hours of March 18, 2020, Jean's soul was delivered into the arms of God. Born October 14, 1952 to Mary Elizabeth (Thomas) Blount and Edward A. Blount lll, into a historic family in the oldest town in Texas, Nacogdoches. Jean was the great-great-granddaughter of Stephen William Blount, the youngest signer of the Texas Declaration of Independence.
She attended public schools in Nacogdoches and graduated as the valedictorian of the Class of 1970 at Nacogdoches High School. She attended Texas Tech University in Lubbock and graduated with a degree in accounting.
After a move to Dallas, Jean worked for a private CPA firm and then for Thomson Reuters for 32 years, lastly as manager of the tax form 1041 division.
Jean is survived by a son, William F. Nesbit and wife Leigh, along with the brightest suns in her life, her two grandchildren, Liam and Addison. She is also survived by two sisters, Elizabeth (Betty) and Alicia, and two brothers, Ed and Stephen. There are also numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and dear friends who will cherish her memory.
Funeral service will be at Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Home in Nacogdoches, Saturday, March 21st, 2020 at 11 am with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery. A reception at Cason Monk-Metcalf will follow.
A celebration of Jean's life will be held at a later date to be announced.
