Mary Vivian (Sutton) Morgan

Mary V. Morgan, 93, of San Augustine, TX died on December 26, 2019 at CHI St. Luke’s Hospital in Lufkin, TX . She was born in Nacogdoches, TX to Sara Annie and James Thomas Sutton on April 18, 1926.

She had two sisters and one brother. Mary was an algebra wiz and a majorette in the high school band. Over the years she would still give baton twirling demonstrations to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was a nurse in the maternity ward at St. Joseph’s Hospital and at Parkway Hospital in Houston Texas. She married Billy J. Morgan on September 20, 1949. They were married for 70 Years. She was a loving wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, and Great Great Grandmother.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Billy J. Morgan; son, Thomas "Randy" Morgan; sisters, Opal Pyle and Elsie Robertson; brother, James Lionel Sutton.

She is survived by: son, Bill Morgan and wife Saletta of Baja, Mexico; daughters, Pat Bruton and husband Dwight of Houston, TX, Judy Akins of Houston, TX, Kathy Felts of Broaddus, TX, and Sherry Ehmling and husband Arthur of Houston, TX; grandchildren, David Reimers, Timothy Reimers, Kristina Husband, Amie Felts Albritton, Arthur Ehmling, Jr., Gennifer Ehmling, Randy Morgan, Nicole Guerlin, Eric Bruton, and Lance Bruton; great-grandchildren, Jeremy Husband, Whitney Allen, Wesley Husband, Colton Albritton, Lance Albritton, Christian Ehmling, Joseph Ehmling, Samuel Ehmling, Eden Bilbo, Robert Morgan, Randy W. Morgan, Riley Morgan, Ryder Morgan, Morgan Bruton, Matthew Milner, Samantha Derugon, Hillary Embody, Zachary Guertin, and Savanna Guertin; great great-grandchildren, Tristen Husband, Avery Allen and Delaney Allen.

Visitation will be at the funeral home from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM prior to the service.

Funeral service will be Sunday, December 29, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel. Rev. Mark Green will be officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
