On Friday, October 7, 2022, Tassie (Mary Katherine) Davidson, devoted wife and mother, passed away at the age of 75. Tassie was born in Cherokee, Iowa to Glenn & Grace Lysaght Barnett. She grew up in Cherokee and later attended beauty school in Ames, IA where she met Raymond Davidson. The two were married in 1969 and raised their family in Sherman, Texas. Tassie attended Oklahoma State University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in education. She had a lifelong gift of nurturing the children in her life. “Love them all” was her motto.
Tassie was a talented artist and shared her paintings with her friends and family. She never met a stranger and always had a knack for lending a hand anywhere she was needed. She was a selfless caretaker who thrived in environments where her gifts were utilized.
Tassie is survived by her husband Raymond, and their two children and spouses, Douglas & Shannon Davidson of McKinney, Texas and Teri-Rae Azulene & Sol Morris of Austin, Texas. She is also survived by her sister Glenna Green, nieces and nephews as well as many beloved grandchildren.
Tassie was the happiest when surrounded by her family at home or at the cabin on Big Sand Lake in Minnesota. She had a wanderlust that kept her and Ray on the go where they enjoyed many adventures.
Energetic, effervescent, the life of the party and a bright light in our lives; she will be forever missed. Her legacy will live on in all the lives she impacted.
A celebration of her life will be held at 'The Venue at 219', 219 Main St., Sulphur Springs, Texas on Friday, October 21st from 2-5 p.m. The family will also have a celebration spring of 2023 in Park Rapids, Minnesota.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to St. Judes Children’s Hospital in Tassie’s name.
