

Born Sept. 3, 1921, in McAlester, Okla., she was a longtime resident of Austin before moving to Nacogdoches, Texas, five years ago. Mrs. Hinson was an active member of Great Hills Baptist Church in Austin and worked as a legal secretary. In Nacogdoches, she was a member of Northwood Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Pat Hinson, on April 5, 2004.
Her survivors include daughters, Pamela Lewis and husband Rev. Benny F. Lewis of Nacogdoches and Susan Hinson of Dallas; a son, Pat Hinson and partner Nestor Apuya of Culver City, Calif.; brother, Charles Griffith and wife Jerrie of Oklahoma City, Okla.; granddaughters, Renee Cole and husband Chad of Sherman, Texas, and Sheila Lewis and husband Duane of Forney, Texas; and great-grandchildren, Katie Boatner and husband Dylan, Claire Cole, Dylan Lewis, Ben Lewis, and Cade Cole.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, February 19, 2014, at Cason Monk-Metcalf, 5400 North St. in Nacogdoches.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 21, at Capital Parks Cemetery Chapel, located at 14501 North I-35 in Pflugerville, Texas, with Dr. Harold E. O’Chester and Rev. Benny F. Lewis officiating. Interment will follow at Capital Parks Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 11:30 a.m.
