Mae Nell Howell

Mrs. Howell was born Nov. 24, 1942, in Hemphill, Texas, to parents Marvin Clyde Jackson Sr. and Bertha Winell McCauley Jackson

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marlin Lee Howell Sr. on July 5, 1981; brother, Marvin Clyde Jackson Jr.; sister, Judy Jackson; and grandson, Logan Fancher.

Mae is survived by her son, Lee Howell and wife Shona; daughters, Sherry Fancher and husband Randy, and Melinda Tarver;sister-in-law, Jerri Jackson; ex-son-in-law, Ricky Tarver; grandchildren, Wendy and Jess Johnson, Richard Tarver, Lauren Fancher, Delina Howell, Jarron Howell, Madison Howell, and Mallory Howell; and great-grandchildren, Carson and Cannon Johnson; nieces and nephews

Mae Nell Howell was affectionately known as "Momma Nell" to her family, friends and church friends. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church for over 20 years and served her church by being involved in the youth group, ladies group and cooking more than enough for every church event that occurred. Momma Nell loved "church singings" and spending time with her family.To her family she was known as more than a momma, she was a best friend who could always be reached no matter what time it was. to whoever needed her most. She found a way to provide for her family after her husband died and raise her family with deep heartfelt Christian values. She was the rock of the family whom everyone will dearly miss.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 26, 2013, at Grace Baptist Church, located at 4120 NW Stallings Drive in Nacogdoches, with Bro. Bill Hunter and Bro. Bailey Alders officiating. Interment will follow at Saunders Cemetery, located on Hwy. 21, in Denning.

Active pallbearers will be Jess Johnson, Richard Tarver, Mark Jackson, Ricky Tarver, Brian Derr, and Doug Howell. Honorary pallbearers will be Randy Fancher and Doug Smelley

Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 25, 2013, at Cason Monk-Metcalf, located at 5400 North Street in Nacogdoches.
