Lucy was a longtime seamstress. She enjoyed sewing and baking, singing and serving in her church. Lucy loved fishing, traveling but mostly spending time with her family. She adored her family. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and the Ladies Auxiliary at her church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Adia Cashat; husband, Lester James Pinkston; sisters, Lucille Cashat, Mary Schmidt, Rosie Smikal, Lorraine DoJohn; brothers, JR Cashat and Johnny Cashat.
Survived by daughter, Reta Alvis and husband Roger; son, James Pinkston; son, Bill Pinkston and wife Sherry; daughter Eva Mock and husband Ronnie; grandchildren, Sandy Alvis, Gordon Alvis, Shelly Pinkston Hannah, Cody Pinkston, Stephanie MaLott, Scott Pinkston, Melissa Mock Boerger, and Tabitha Mock Long; great-grandchildren, Brandon Alvis, Courtney Alvis, Luke Alvis, Grace Hannah, Reiliegh Jean Pinkston, Brittany Mock, Emma Grace Prouse, Taylor Price, Trey Pleasant and Christopher Boerger; great great-grandchildren, Hunter Alvis, Kohen Alvis, Daylton Mock and Kayden Stewart; also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Maws will always be remembered by her grandchildren by her “Trot a little pony” and her “Burr Teeth.”
A visitation for Lucy will be held Tuesday, September 20, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Following the visitation will be a funeral service at 2:00 PM at Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors, 5400 North St, Nacogdoches, Texas 75965.
Lucy will be laid to rest in Upper Chireno Cemetery, Chireno, TX.
