Kathy grew up on Hector Street in Pasadena, Texas, and was graduated from Sam Rayburn High School in 1967. She went to work at Bayshore Animal Hospital shortly after graduating, where she met her loving husband, Jim Ward.
Kathy, a.k.a. Gaga, had many endeavors. She was a telephone operator, handling the switchboards at Ma Bell. She worked alongside Jim, keeping records for the veterinary clinic. She worked in and dealt with antiques for the majority of her adult life, and at one time, managed the ticket office at SFASU. Her bright personality kept customers coming to Greer's, Past and Present, and Laine's Hallmark. She was the personal interior decorator for all her family and friends. She was so artistically talented; she loved to read and garden. Kathy loved a good party and hated to miss a thing!
Kathy's greatest enjoyment was her family. She took sister trips with Janet and Sally. She would do anything her family asked of her, and she took every opportunity to play with her grandchildren.
Kathy was kind, loving, and had the most generous spirit. A certain someone wanted it known that her favorite holiday was Christmas.
