Janie Dean

Janie was born on March 21, 1936, in Chireno, Nacogdoches County, Texas, to parents Joe Burch and Argie Florence (Miller) Burch. She graduated from Nacogdoches High School in 1954. She attended Stephen F. Austin University. She married the love of her life, Robert E. Dean, September 19, 1954. They were happily married for 56 years.

She is survived by her two daughters, Jan Carnley (Kent) and Karen Patterson (John Mark), her daughter-in-law, Annie Dean, brothers, Troy Burch (Dolores) of New Braunfels, Texas and Jerry Burch (Josie) of Port Allen, Louisiana and her sister, Glenda Wallace (Jerrol) of Moss Hill, Texas.

Her grandchildren are Trent Carnley (deceased), Jodi Penrod (Matt), Jaime Garcia (Steve), Jay Kent Carnley (Alyssa), Johnathan Mark Patterson, Kali Carnley, Kyle Carnley, Kaleb Carnley (Ashley), John Kyle Carnley (Courtney), Evie Dean, Alex Dean and Kate Dean

Her great-grandchildren are Ethan, Kyla and Colin Segura, Kenna Penrod, Ashton and Brooklyn Carnley, Zander and Jace Garcia, Tatym, Fender and Tenley Carnley, Bella and Charlotte Brasill and Kash Carnley.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Argie Burch, her husband, Robert E. Dean, son, Greg Dean, brother, Charles Burch and his wife, Nelda, and grandson, Trent Carnley.

She was a member of New Life Christian Fellowship Church in Nacogdoches, where she was Song Director for more than thirty years.

Janie was an accomplished musician, a seamstress, a fabulous cook, and a businesswoman. She loved her social groups and enjoyed spending time with friends and her family.

Funeral Services will be held, 10:00 AM, Friday, May 4, 2018, Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends, Thursday, from 5:00 until 7:00 PM, at the funeral home.
