James “Jim” Harry Moore, 95, of Nacogdoches, Texas, died on April 1, 2025. He was born on August 11, 1929, in Columbus, Georgia, to the late James Henry Moore and Mary Kathleen Pratt. Jim lived a life full of purpose, love, and dedication.
Jim graduated from Savannah High School, class of 1946, before enlisting in the U.S. Navy, where he served proudly during the Korean War. Following his service, he pursued higher education and earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of Houston. Jim went on to have a distinguished career, retiring as the President of Loral Space & Range Systems in Sunnyvale, California.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 66 years, Anita Moore; their two sons, Dan Moore of Santa Cruz, California, and Michael Moore of Perryville, Missouri. Jim was predeceased by his children, daughter Leslie Moore and son Jimmy Moore.
A man of many interests, Jim loved being outdoors—whether he was working on his farm, tinkering with various projects, or enjoying a round of golf. He was an avid reader, a passionate traveler, and a fan of country music, often singing his favorite songs for those around him. Above all, Jim cherished spending time with his family, especially his wife, Anita, with whom he shared a deep, loving bond throughout their 66 years together.
The Moore family will be hosting a Celebration of Life at Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Home in Nacogdoches at a later date to honor Jim’s remarkable life.
