James Vernon McFadden

He was born January 21, 1939, in Deadwood, Texas to parents Doss and Maude (Ray) McFadden.

A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 29, 2017, at Sunset Memorial Park in Nacogdoches with Bro. Alvin Stanaland officiating.

Pallbearers will include Clayton McFadden, Barry McFadden, Robert Scott, Andy Raines, Neal McFadden, and Don Welch. The employees of Pebble Creek Cabinets will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Friends and family are invited to visitation from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Friday, April 28, 2017, at Cason Monk-Metcalf, 5400 North Street in Nacogdoches.

Mr. McFadden’s passion from an early age was woodworking, as he loved seeing a home come together. He believed there was nothing that could not be created using wood. Once his health started declining, his main focus became Pebble Creek Custom Cabinets. He loved designing, and he worked daily to help people see their dream become a reality.

His second passion became a ten acre tract of land in the Mena Arkansas Ouachita Mountains. James was determined to build his dream cabin with a front porch to sit and rock. He loved riding 4-wheelers with the family in those mountains, his “Heaven on Earth.” Anyone who knew him also saw the love he had for his "black Chevrolet one-tons."

Mr. McFadden was preceded in death by his parents and siblings.

He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Gail Rector McFadden of Nacogdoches; son, Clayton McFadden and wife Pam of Nacogdoches; daughter, Tammy McFadden of Lufkin; son, Barry McFadden and wife Betty of Nacogdoches; daughter, Carri (Susie) Scott and husband Robert of Nacogdoches; granddaughter, Rachel Raines and husband Andy of Tyler; great grandson, Caiden Corman of Mt. Enterprise; and great granddaughter, Raylee Corman of Nacogdoches.
