I did not know Tag personally and to my memory I never had the opportunity to meet him. But my mother knew him well and I remember her talking fondly about him often. I believe they grew up and maybe went to school together at Pleasant Grove, I'm not certain. My mother is Dorothy Marie Smith Welch, she passed in January 2009. I am James Allen Welch and I have a sister, Marie Elaine Welch Strickland. Our sincere condolences to all the family and God bless.

My  deepest sympathy to your family. I was friends with Herman, Jr. We rode the bus together in elementary school when I lived on Nick Springs Road. May God hold you in his loving arms.

One of my favorite memories is when Wyatt turned three he decided to name Tag " Old Granddad" although his cousins called him Granddad . Tag's love for his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren was very apparent.  Tag will be greatly missed.
