Frances Helen “Quinn” Monroe passed away on July 10, 2024 in Nacogdoches, Texas at the age of 86. She was born on February 24, 1938 in Poughkeepsie, New York to parents Anthony Quinn and Helen “Detmer” Quinn.
Frances graduated from Poughkeepsie High School. She would then begin working in the insurance business at USAA in San Antonio Texas where she would attend Texas State College of San Marcos at night to obtain her Bachelor’s degree in business. Frances retired as an executive USAA Insurance manager. Twenty nine years ago she and her husband Robert researched and chose to retire in Nacogdoches. She came to love both the city and its people.
Francis had many hobbies including gardening, painting, pottery, and reading. She also love the arts, cooking, and traveling. Frances was a member of Westminster Presbyterian church and the AARP.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert G. Monroe; sister, Dawn Q. Anderson; daughter, Teresa Lynn Humphreys; grandson, William Michael Festo; and beloved longtime pet Buffy Jo.
Survivors include: Children, Wanda Lee Carifi, Robert Joseph Monroe, Glen Scott Monroe; Grandchildren, Erica Lee Graziano, Danielle Marie Ciulla, Jonathan N Monroe, Leah Paige Monroe, Catherine Ann Monroe, and Sophia Rose Monroe; Great-Grandchildren: Richard Francis Ferrara, Analise Assisi Carrione, Taylor Paige Ciulla, Ronald William Ciulla, Gianna Marie Ciulla, Michael Festo, Tyler Joseph Castle, Lily Renee Soja; Great-Great-Grandchildren: Vincent Nathaniel Bradshaw.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to, Westminster Presbyterian Church, 903 North Street, Nacogdoches, Texas 75961.
The funeral services are under the direction of Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Home Directors.
