Frances Delores Low of Nacogdoches passed away January 28, 2018, in Nacogdoches at the age of 80. She was born to Robert Lee Wilson and Bertha Roberta Estoll Wilson in Garden Valley, Texas on November 26, 1937. Being one of 13 children born to Pentecostal parents, one of her earliest memories was singing on the street corners for change while her father preached the word of God. At 17 years of age, she married Gene M. Low, in Strathmore, CA, a soldier boy who became the love of her life. For the next 28 years, she followed him all over the United States and Germany, making a home for him, their four children, and many lonely soldiers far away from home. She was the consummate homemaker, wife, and mother. After the death of her husband, she attended Angelina College and received a degree in Secretarial Studies. She was an excellent seamstress, and also loved to crochet. However, the greatest joy in her life was becoming a grandmother. She could find nothing wrong with any of her "perfect" grandchildren, spending her last years being thoroughly immersed in their lives! Five years ago she returned to her spiritual heritage, and became reacquainted with her Savior. She loved to tell everyone how she was the first person to be baptized at the new Apostolic Lighthouse Pentecostal Church on Durst St. Known affectionately as "Granny Fran" to her church family, she became everyone's granny and was quick to tell them the right and wrong of what they were doing! Gradually, she started slowing down and on January 28, 2018 at 6:45 in the AM; she decided it was the perfect time to take flight to her heavenly home. She will be physically missed; however, she will always be a part of those whose lives she touched.
She is survived by her children; daughter, Regina Low of Nacogdoches, TX; son, Pete Low and wife Robbie of Center, TX; and daughter, Cassy Low Ellis and husband Neuman of Nacogdoches, TX; sisters, Ruby Stacy of Okemah, OK and Dorothy Clinton of Hughson, CA; grandchildren, Joshua and Jessica Low of Mt. Home, AR, Matthew and Kristin Low of Clarksville, TX, Katie and Nolan Boles of Cypress Fair, TX, Sarah and Christian Price of Victoria, TX and Trey Ellis of Nacogdoches; and 6 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gene M. Low and son, Robert A Low.
A celebratory "home going" service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 5, 2018, at Apostolic Lighthouse Pentecostal Church, located at 1801 Durst Street in Nacogdoches, TX 75964. Graveside services to follow at Fairview Cemetery.
