Ethan Smith, age 23 of Nacogdoches passed away on February 21, 2020. He was born at home to parents Chester Smith and Kimberlee Smith in Nacogdoches on July 3, 1996.
Ethan was homeschooled through 3rd grade and attended Nacogdoches Christian Academy from 4th to 6th grade. He then attended Douglass Independent School for the 7th grade and Cushing Independent School for 8th grade. He finished his schooling at Nacogdoches High School. For the next six years he worked long hours with his father installing swimming pools to help people combat the notorious Texas heat.
His mother gave him the nickname, “Eenie Bear” at a very young age and it stuck with him. He was a self-taught piano player enjoying especially gospel songs. He was always involved in gardening of some kind, whether it was tending to his grandparents' or working in his own. A serious outdoorsman, he liked to fish and hunt with his family in San Augustine. Ethan also enjoyed cooking healthy meals with his dad at home. Exercise was a big part of his life as well, as an avid cyclist for many years.
Ethan struggled with mental health issues and addiction for many years, but never stopped loving his family and his Lord. In lieu of flowers, please make a memorial donation to:
