Dorothy "Dot" Eve Banks

Dorothy “Dot” Eve Banks, age 89 of Nacogdoches, Texas passed away on Monday, November 25, 2019. Dot was born December 24, 1929 in DeKalb, Texas, a daughter of the late Seldon Crew and Mary Ruth Calvin Welch. She is survived by her loving daughter Pamela Banks of Frisco, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband Bob Banks, her son Gary Banks; siblings, T.A. Welch, Venoy Welch, Imogene Welch Epperson; niece, Kim Welch McCarty.

Dot enjoyed being an O.R. Nurse until meeting the love of her life, Bob. Bob and Dot were married 50 years. Dot’s greatest joy was being a stay at home mom and caring for her children, Pam and Gary. Her hobbies included traveling, reading books, and spending time with her dogs Katy, Tarby, and Tugger.

She is survived by her sister, Dolly Burkett; sister-in-law, Bobbie Welch, brother-in-law, Joe Holly Banks; nephews and nieces, Darren Welch, Marla McBurnett and spouse David McBurnett, Vincent “Greg” Welch, David Welch, Doug Welch, Keith Epperson and Darla Weisser.

Mkoyan. Even though my mother could be a little ornery, they always had compassion and love for her. I never could have gotten thru this without these amazing caregivers. I love you all. Pam

Visitation will be Monday, December 2, from 5-7 at Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Home in Nacogdoches, Texas. Graveside service will be Tuesday December 3, at Sunset Memorial in Nacogdoches, beginning at 11:00.
