Over the last 75 years, he had many passions, including football, his beloved East Fork Ranch, traveling, fast cars, and fun jeeps. His career in the pet food and feed industry first began at Paris Milling Company, later taking him to Decatur, Illinois, with Archer Daniels Midland Company, followed by Texas Farm Products and HK Logistics. He was very proud to have served as President of the American Pet Food Association.
More than anything, Daniel cherished his family. Though he and his beloved wife, Barbara Poche Lostetter Reid did not have nearly as much time together as they prayed for, their marriage was filled with love, family, and faith. Daniel's pride in his daughter Brooke and her husband, Richard Robbins, was evident to all. Daniel and Barbara found great joy in their role as grandparents to Emerson and Annagrace Robbins, as well as Bailey May Sublett, daughter of Jennifer and Chad Sublett, and Meghan and Nolan Cox, children of Jessica and Stephen Cox. His sister, Donna Ellis was a constant source of love and support. He will also be missed by his niece and nephews, Jennifer Bryant, David Ellis, Jason White, and Scott Biard. He will always be remembered for fiercely loving and protecting his family. He will be laid to rest near his mother and father, Polly Reed and Daniel Reid, Jr., as well as his beloved siblings, Douglas Reid and Polly Chi White, in Evergreen Cemetery in Paris, Texas.
On Monday, July 15, family and friends will gather in The Evergreen Chapel at 10 am, and the Service will begin at 10:30 am.
In place of flowers, please consider donating to The Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation https://cholangiocarcinoma.org/donate/. The Reid family is deeply grateful for the love and support they have received during this difficult time. Your kindness has been a source of comfort and strength.
