Alice Marie Orndorff of Nacogdoches passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2018, at her residence at the age of 90 years, 1 month, and 10 days. She was born March 15, 1928, in Terre Haute, Indiana, to parents Elbert Wayne and Blanche Irene (Estes) Letner.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 27, 2018, at Mount Hope Cemetery Pavilion in Wells, Texas, officiated by Bro. Barry Rankin and Bro. Fred Bird.
Alice was a woman who was strong in her faith and loved spending time with her family and her dogs. She was a charter member of Chapel of Faith Pentecostal Church in Terre Haute, Indiana. She also attended Woden United Pentecostal Church. She was a song leader who played the piano, and she even sang on the church’s radio broadcast. Her hobbies included cooking, crocheting, and gardening.
Mrs. Orndorff was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Fred Orndorff; sisters, Leona Letner and Lucille Letner; brothers, Robert Jackie Lee Letner, Charles Letner, and Lewis Albert Letner; and daughter, Wendy Orndorff Bird.
She is survived by her sister, Margaret Fern Bunch; grandson, Fred Bird and wife Amy; granddaughters, Rebecca Bird and Amanda Garvin; great grandsons, Caleb Bird, Elijah Bird, Joseph Bird, Jonathon Garvin, and Landon Garvin; great granddaughters, Anna Bird and Chelsee Garvin; and several nieces, nephews, relatives, and dear friends.
