Yvonne was born December 24, 1938, the daughter of Lewis and Rena McKay. She married Frank Thompson in the late 1950’s. Together they enjoyed many years of marriage together and raised 4 children together until his death in 2018. She was a member of the Grand Rapids Eagles and VFW post 411 in Hesperia. Yvonne spent time working for Plasti-Plate and enjoyed her work there. In life she enjoyed crocheting, playing piano, bingo, camping, family canoe trips, and cooking. Her family always brought the most joy to her. She was a loving, strong-willed, determined, caring, independent, fiery woman who will be deeply missed.
Yvonne is survived by: her children, Timothy Thompson, Trenia (Mark) Kazmierski, and Angela (Vern) Myers; grandchildren, Adam, Travis, Vern, and Tiffany; brother, Robert (Susie) McKay; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Frank Thompson; step-daughter, Gloria Carol; and sister, Arlene Bunker.
Cremation will take place and services will be planned sometime in the future.
