Mr. Thomas Niel Thomas, age 74, passed away on Sunday, February 24, 2013. Thomas was born in Muskegon on June 5, 1938 to Richard and Mildred (Stewart) Thomas. He is survived by his wife, Shirley (Laubach); children, Richard N. (Joan) Thomas, Michael L. Thomas, Vicky E. (Gary) Sowles, Scott N. (Nancy) Thomas, Jeffrey A. Thomas, Cindy Johnston and Robert Hoyer, Jr.; grandchildren, Leah, Kyle, Alex, Elizabeth, Tyler (Sara), Rebecca (Chuck), Jason (Jodi), Josh (Melissa) and Mark; great-grandchildren, Shawn, Hunter, Chase, Donovan and Violet; sisters, Ann (Dick) Markgraf, Barbara Randall, Judy (Dan) Riley and Cathy French; brothers, Norm Thomas and Tim (Linda) Thomas; mother-in-law, Virginia Laubach; brother and sister-in-law, David and Carol Laubach; sisters-in-law, Harriet and Cynthia Thomas; many nieces and nephews; special friends, Tom and Pat Slamkowski; pets, Baby Girl and Willie. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Thomas M. Thomas; sister, Patricia Thomas; brothers, Lionel, Marvin and Michael Thomas; brothers-in-law, Robert Latch and Gerald Randall; sister-in-law, Constance Thomas; father-in-law, Albert Laubach. He had worked as a truck driver in the Muskegon area and was a U.S. Air Force Veteran. A gathering for friends and family will be held on Sunday, March 3, 2013 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at the Apple Carr Village Clubhouse. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Harbor Hospice or the Muskegon Humane Society.
