

Sammie Lee Cunningham, Sr., 79, of Muskegon, Michigan, passed away at 3:39 p.m. on Thursday, December 20, 2012. He was preceded in death by his father Jimmie Lee, in 1967 and his mother, Willie Lou in 1974. Sisters - Fannie Kidd, Daisy Jordon, and Nadine Cunningham. Brothers – Roosevelt and John Lee Cunningham. Wife - Bessie Will Cunningham, in 1968, and, wife Onelda Starr-Cunningham, in 2009. Son - Darwin McNeil in 1995. Daughter - Rose Mary Cunningham-Ross, 2005. A very special sister-in-law, Nancy Ruth Jennings in 2010. Survivng are his brothers - Jimmie Lee, and Willie Lee Cunningham. Sisters - Annie Vesta Aytes, and Annie Pearl Gillespie; his children, Sammie (Lynda) Cunningham, Jr., Gloria Cunningham, Stanley (Christine) Cunningham, Carolyn (Randy) Adams, Kenny (Tasha) Cunningham, Kelvin (Jennifer) Cunningham, Stephanie Cunningham, Lecia (Michael) Burrel. Timothy Cunningham, Ruth (Ricky) Lewis. Terry, Holly, Dorothy, and Penny Harper; grandchildren, Elliott, Crystal, Timothy, Carma, Lisa, Sammie, III, Stanley, Jr., Reggie, Lawaun, Ragina, Candee, Dorica, Tony, Kawana, Kawaun, Danielle, Valerie, Regan, Cametria, Jessica, Samara, Miranda, Jennifer, Courtney, Elecia, Askia, Lemeia, Adam, Justin, Theo, II, Kayshira, Stephanie, William, Tyneen, Taya, Thomas, Tashara, Arienne, Demerio, Aaron, Brianna, Daqula, Alexis, Jamar (Micey), and Destine; sixty great-grandchildren, twelve great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Sammie was a member of Apostolic Church of God-Muskegon. He was a long time disabled factory worker of Lakey Foundry. He enjoyed watching Westerns, cooking and eating, fishing, hunting, playing cards, and spending time with family and friends. Sammie was known for his “swagger” and being sharp as a tack! Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 27, 2012, at Apostolic Church of God-Muskegon, 1163 Center Street, Muskegon, MI 49442, at 12:00 noon. Officiating, Pastor Theophilus R.
