Richard “Dick” Hilliard, age 73, passed away on Sunday, October 5, 2014 at his home after a long battle with Multiple Myeloma. He was born on April 7, 1941 in Muskegon. He serviced in the United States Air Force. Dick was a business owner and a salesman for many years. He loved to spend most of his time with his family and cherished every moment. He was an avid deer hunter and lived for his time at deer camp in the UP. Dick also loved Nascar and the Detroit Tigers. On September 2, 2014 he and his wife Jane (Andrew) celebrated 54 years of marriage. She survives him along with their three children: Mike (Susan) Hilliard, Ruth (Terry) Kuhlman, Dawn (Ernie) Millstead; six grandchildren: Randi (Eric) Sheffer, Todd (Megan) Kuhlman, Michael Hilliard, Ashley Millstead, Trisha (Darick) Stingle, Marissa Hilliard; two precious great grandsons: Jaylon and Bryson; three brothers: Rick, Jeff and Randy; one sister, Lori; sister-in-law, Dawn; brother-in-law, Dickie; several nieces and nephews and many extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, and other special family members. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, October 9, 2014 at Ever Rest Funeral Home & Chapel (1783 E. Keating Ave., Muskegon). Pastor Fred Summerfield officiating. The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 from 4:00-8:00pm and again on Thursday, one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10:00am. Interment at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. Please consider a memorial contribution to the family to then be given to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital and the Johnson Family Cancer Center.
