Raymond "Ray" C Boersema

Raymond "Ray" C. Boersema, age 81, passed away peacefully at home Tuesday, March 25, 2025, surrounded by his family. Ray was born on March 10, 1944, in Muskegon, MI, to John and Catherine (Peterson) Boersema. A proud graduate of Reeths-Puffer Class of 1962. He dedicated 40 years to Sealed Power before retiring. On June 3, 1967, Ray married the love of his life, Sheila Hansen. They shared 52 wonderful, joy-filled years together until Sheila's passing in 2019.

Ray had a knack for tinkering. He was always on the move, whether woodworking, rock tumbling, or working in the garage. After his wife's passing, he found joy in tending to their garden and maintaining the lawn. Every Tuesday morning, he could be found having breakfast with his retired friends and coworkers from Sealed Power. Ray was a lifelong fish enthusiast who enjoyed caring for his many aquariums, but above anything, he loved and cherished his time with his family. His kindness, humor, and unconditional love will be missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.

Ray is survived by his children Denielle (John) Arnson and Chris Boersema; grandchildren, Nick (Amanda), Kerri, Rabecca, Raven, Katelynn, and Casey; 7 great-grandchildren, and his many close friends and family. Ray was welcomed home in death by his parents, loving wife, daughter, sister, and two brothers.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at Ever Rest Funeral Home & Chapel with a visitation 1 hour prior. Visitation with the family will be held from 5-7:00 PM on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at Ever Rest Funeral Home. Ray will be laid to rest on April 3,2025 at Fruitland Township Cemetery following the service.
