Maisha was raised by a host of family, it truly took a village. A beloved Daughter, Sister, Aunt, Cousin, and Dear Friend she touched the lives of many with her warmth, compassion, and Spunk. Maisha was a Graduate of Muskegon high School Class of 2014 where she attended and made many lifelong relationships. As a child, She was very shy and reserved, but quickly growing out of that once she made it to Middle school. She was delicately taken care of by what she would refer to as her 3 Mothers Reyna, Squish, and her Aunt Terri. Maisha loved her family with a passion, she would go to war behind anyone of them, especially her brothers or dearly beloved Grandma Lupe. Maisha was known for being the life of the party! When she would walk into a room, her presence was felt one way or another. Either she captured your eyes or ears. With her elegant and flashy style of fashion and beauty, Or her loud voice carrying throughout the room. She was always up for a good time. Known for more than her beauty she was an exceptional cook, she loved to feed her loved ones. Her infectious laughter and positive outlook on life were a source of inspiration to all who knew her. She approached all challenges with Grace and determination, leaving a lasting mark on those who were fortunate enough to have been a part of her life.
Maisha is preceded in Death by her Aunt Terri & Uncle Joe Loera.
Maisha is Survived by her parents; Reyna & Robert Mathis. Grandmother Guadalupe Loera (Santos). Brothers, Xavier, Amani, Jesus, Dro, Robert, Darius, Hunter, Corey, and Lundon. Sisters, Sierra, Aijah, Yvonnjanai, Corlena, Mahogany, and Paris. Aunt Michelle Martinez. Special Cousins, Stephanie Schopieray, Bobby & Eliza Carmean, Santiago, Kayleigh, Chelsea, and so many more.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 14 at 12 noon, at Church of the Living God in Fruitport MI where Maisha was a proud member of their congregation.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the gofundme account to help offset costs.
