8/29/1959 – 2/18/2019
Age 59
Muskegon, Michigan
Kevin was born in Seoul, Korea, to a Korean woman and an African American serviceman. He was among a small group of very fortunate of children (GI babies) to be adopted and become a naturalized U.S. Citizen. Things went so well with Kevin’s adoption and life with the Miller family, that he paved the way for the adoption and immigration of his younger sister Tamara, a year later.
Fun loving, kind, and handsome, Kevin soared playing basketball at Catholic Central High School. After studying at Muskegon Community College, Kevin found his passion as a cook, working in several local restaurants in Muskegon where he lived his entire life. Kevin loved cooking for others and could whip up amazing food in short order and bring smiles to his customers’ faces. Those who knew Kevin would say that he was gentle, honest, and respectful of other people and their property. While Kevin had very strong opinions, he could always be counted on for his loyalty to his family and his friends. He also was a skilled billiards player, who bet and beat most of his opponents handily. If you ever had the opportunity to play Kevin in pool, you know what we mean!
Kevin passed away before his time. He successfully battled many health challenges over the years and finally passed away at his home after a long battle with Type II diabetes when he succumbed to renal failure. Kevin was preceded in death by his beloved parents Christopher and Dorothy Miller and great aunt Eddie Mae Beal of Muskegon Heights, Michigan. He is survived by his sister Tamara Miller (Peter Masciola); his niece Tamara Masciola and nephew Kevin Masciola; his aunts Margaret Buchanan, Claudia Biagas, and Sue Glenn; his cousins Jane Green, Charles Burns (Sandra Burns), Gregory Glenn (Ann Glenn), Reginald Glenn (Vivian Glenn), Glenda DeMoss (James DeMoss), many other cousins, and his best friend on this earth Bruce Link.
