Jesus (Jesse) R. Gonzales, 94, of Muskegon peacefully passed away on Sunday, December 2, 2018. Jesse was born on March 30, 1924 to the late Esteben & Paula Rios Gonzales in San Antonio, TX. He married the love of his life, Phyllis Albertine Fick on September 20, 1955. She preceded him in death on June 8, 2007. Jesse served in the Army for 4 years and his tour of duty was in Italy during World War II. Most of his employment history was at CWC in Muskegon, which he retired from.
Jesse had a passion for fishing. He enjoyed spending time at the lake either alone or with his family. He also enjoyed deer hunting with his two sons, Jesse Jr. & David. Other pastime things he liked to do was watching baseball on TV, watching western movies and also the Bowery Boys, and playing his guitar. He was a very sociable man who took his wife, Phyllis to parties and danced. He and the family would take trips to other states to visit family members. He was a friendly and caring man, which would do anything for his family or friends if there was a need. And he loved his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren dearly. Jesse will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Jesse was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis, 2 sons, Jesse Jr. & Michael, daughter, Rita Gonzales and his sister, Rose Medina. Jesse is survived by his son, David Gonzales of Muskegon, daughters, Linda Gandy of Edgewater, MD, Christina Speese of Muskegon, Anita Gonzales of Muskegon and 1 brother, Frank Gonzales of Kenosha, WI. He had 18 grandchildren and several great grandchildren along with a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday December 13, 2018 from 5:00 -7:00 P.M. at Ever Rest Funeral Home and Chapel 1783 East Keating Ave., Muskegon, MI 49442. Funeral Services will be Friday December 14, 2018 at 11:00 A. M. at Ever Rest Funeral Home with a burial immediately following at Sunrise Memorial Gardens next door to the funeral home.
