Jannell Elaine Weathers

Jannell Elaine Weathers, age 58, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on July 24, 2020. She was born on October 20, 1961, in Muskegon, Michigan to James Earl Sr. and Thressa Undine (Cummins) Weathers. She graduated from Orchard View High School in 1979.

Jannell is survived by her two children, daughter Janessa (Tim) Smit and son Jason Stroud; three grandchildren Tenley and Tatum Smit and Elliott Stroud; brothers James Jr. Weathers, John (Jackie) Weathers, Jene (Carla) Weathers and many nieces, nephews, and relatives.

Jannell is reunited in heaven with family preceding her in death; her father and mother, infant brother Jerry Weathers, brother Julius Weathers and sisters Jacqueline LaHaye and Janice Hancock.

Jannell will be remembered for her love of her family and friends, her servant’s heart, and her strong resolve. She was so proud of and loved her granddaughters and grandson with every ounce of her being, almost as much as they loved their Grandma Nell. Jannell was a nurturer and would give anything she had to anyone who needed it, often going out of her way to take care of others. She met each challenge in life head-on with sheer grit and a fierce determination to persevere. She was a survivor and credited God as her source of strength.

A visitation will be held on Friday, July 31, 2020, from 3:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Ever Rest Funeral Home and Chapel located at 1783 East Keating Avenue in Muskegon, Michigan
