Jackie W. Cooper, age 78, was called home to his Heavenly Father on Monday, June 17, 2013. He was born to Joseph and Dorothy (Payne) Cooper on August 26, 1934 in Honor, Michigan. Jackie served in the United States Air Force and retired from Howmet in 2000. His hobbies included being outdoors and camping. He was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather. Jackie was an amazing man; hated by no one and loved by all who knew him. He was a faithful man and is now in heaven by Jesus’ side. Jackie is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Mamie (Hite) Cooper; four children: Pam (Mike) Patterson of Muskegon, Cheryl (Riley) Lyons of Hesperia, Dawn (Greg) Wentworth of Muskegon, Bryan (Kristy) Cooper of North Dakota; eight grandchildren: Tiffany Randall, Kathy, Melody and Jon Lyons, Johnathon Hendrickson, Madison Wentworth, Casey and Cadence Cooper; sisters: Lita Cooper, Nora Matty, Helen Jorgenson; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers: Robert and Glen Cooper, Marty and Russell Polaski. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 20 at 1:00 p.m. at River of Life Church, 4860 Holton Rd. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Don Benedict officiating and a luncheon afterwards. Contributions may be made to River of Life Church in memory of Jackie Cooper.
