Jack D. Dickerson, age 88, was born in Alma, Michigan on May 18, 1923 to the late Clifford and Carrie Dickerson and passed away on April 1, 2012. Jack was preceded in death by his loving wife of 52 years, Marilyn A. Dickerson in May of 2001 and a son-in-law, Steve Ricketson. He is survived by seven children, Vickie (Wayne) Harkema, of Nunica, Sally Ricketson, of Kalamazoo, Cindy (Ed) Laning, of Spring Lake, Bonnie Doran, of North Muskegon, Randy Dickerson, of Grand Haven, Janis “Kay” (Roger) Calanchi, of Grand Haven, Barbara (Brian) Radikopf, of West Olive; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Jack was a veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II where he was the recipient of the Purple Heart and was a past member of the VFW Post #2326 in Grand Haven. He worked as a draftsman at Oldberg’s Manufacturing and was an avid camper and woodworker. According to his wishes cremation has taken place and no services are to be held.
