Doris Louise Golden Coon

Doris L. Golden Coon, age 87 of Muskegon, passed away Saturday, January 9, 2016 in the loving arms of her family. She was born on October 19, 1928 in Coloma, MI to Henry and Lillian Sweeten. Doris married Kenneth A. Golden Sr. on November 18, 1947, who preceded her in death on September 11, 1989. She married Vern Coon on August 6, 1999, and he preceded her in death on August 8, 2005. Doris was a past president of the American Legion Post 411. She enjoyed puzzle books, playing games, reading, and traveling. Doris is survived by her children, Katherine (Bob) Stratil, Juanita Gonzalez, Ken Golden Jr., Henry (Christie) Golden, Tracy (Vickie) Golden, Charlotte Workman, Alice (Jan) Kamphorst, Kim (Monica) Golden, Kris (Rhonda) Golden, and Rita (John) Perkins; the New Heart Community family; 16 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 6 sisters; and 1 brother. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; her daughter, Barbara Schultz; 2 grandchildren; and 3 sisters. A service for Doris will be held Saturday, January 16, 2016 at 2pm at Ever Rest Funeral Home and Chapel; 1783 E. Keating Ave. in Muskegon. Officiating will be Ron Amos. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, beginning at 1pm.
