Charles W. “Chuck” Lindsay was born in Detroit on October 9, 1925 and passed away in Muskegon on Sunday, January 1, 2012. Chuck is survived by his daughter, Karen (David Wilson)Lindsay-Bowne; two grandchildren, Austin (Amanda) Bowne and Leah (Derek Westjohn) Bowne; three great-grandchildren, Alexia, Aubrey and Jerod; three siblings, Olive Elton, Levern Leitz and Violet Haas. Chuck was preceded in death by his wife Evelyn and three siblings. He was a graduate of Wayne State University. Chuck was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps serving in World War II and received 2 Purple Hearts in the Battle of Iwo Jima. He worked at Brunswick and retired from Mercy General Hospital. He was a member of Crestwood Church, 1220 Creston, where a memorial service will be held on Friday, January 6, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be held at the Church for 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. According to his wishes cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to Harbor Hospice Poppen Residence.
