Carl Lewis Benkert

Age 67, of Ravenna, Michigan, passed away at his home on Friday, March 14, 2025. Carl was born on December 25, 1957, in Grand Haven, Michigan, to the late Charles and Doris (Hendricks) Benkert. Later in life, Carl moved to Nunica, Michigan, where he married the love of his life, Judy Anderson, on April 4, 1987. Together, they created many wonderful memories until her passing on November 18, 2010.

Carl was a vibrant soul with a deep passion for hunting, bowling, racing, and hockey. He cherished every moment spent at the racetracks, where his love for NASCAR brought him immense joy. Beyond his hobbies, Carl was a truly devoted family man, known for his warm heart and welcoming spirit. His absence will be profoundly felt by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be missed dearly by all.

In addition to his parents and wife, Carl was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Benkert, and his sister, Deb Benkert.

He is lovingly remembered by his children, April (Kirk) Scheidel and Brian Benkert, along with his siblings, Doug (Carolyn) Benkert, Lynette (Jerry) Gavin, Barb (Dan) Syrek, Patrick (Sandy) Benkert, Ed (Wayne) Benkert, and Craig (Heather) Benkert. Carl is also survived by many special nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Carl's life will take place at a later date. The family extends their heartfelt thanks for the support and kind words during this difficult time.
