Alma Marie Maynard

Miss Alma Marie Maynard passed away 10/23/19. She was born December 27, 1928 on the family farm in Beaver Township near Hesperia, Michigan, the second of four children born to Max and Pearl ( Campbell) Maynard.

She attended the North School in Beaver Township until the family moved to Muskegon. She graduated from Muskegon High School and Muskegon Junior College.

Alma worked in the credit department for Montgomery Ward and Hardy Herpolshimers in downtown Muskegon.

She was a long-time member of the First Church of the Nazarene.

Alma was devoted to her family. She cared for her great - grandmother, and later her mother. While her mother

was in the care of DeBoer Nursing Home, Alma spent every day with her mother during her three-year stay.

Alma took great pleasure in doing something special for their family home while her parents wintered in Florida. They came home to new carpet, a newly painted kitchen, or a new sofa.

Alma was an excellent seamstress and made all of her own dresses.

Alma was predeceased by her parents, her sister Mrs. Beverly Stiles, and her sister Francis May Maynard.

Alma is survived by her brother, Mel (Pat) Maynard, many nieces and nephews, cousins, Joyce Quarto, Gaylord

Shaffer, Jim (Candy) Campbell, Judy Campbell.

A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church, 1070 Quarterline in Muskegon, on Thursday November 7, 2019 at 11:00 am with a visitation at 10:30 am.
