Alan was born March 21, 1946, the son of Raymond and Maude Nelson. He married Bonnie Woodland on August 22, 1964 and together they were blessed with 57 years of marriage until her death in 2021. Alan was a member of the Little River Band of Ottawa Indians. He enjoyed golfing, watching TV, hunting, fishing and most of all being with his grandchildren. He was a loving, right to the point, generous, jokester, and a loving pappy. He will be deeply missed.
Alan is survived by: his children, Sherry (Kevin) Johnson, Anita Burmeister, Joe (Marsha) Burmeister; grandchildren, Zackery (Kandas) Wildey, Nicholas (Jazmine) Cory, Ryan (Hannah L.) Burmeister, Trenton (Samantha) Burmeister, Hannah M. Burmeister; great-grandchildren, Owen, Khalia, Noah, and Ava; and several siblings.
He was preceded in death by: his wife; his parents; and several siblings.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation will take place and no public services will be held.
