Dan was predeceased by his parents Luther and Estella and loving wife Joyce. Dan is survived and missed by his first wife Ann and brother Luther.
He is dearly missed by his children David, Sabrina, and Laurie and will be forever cherished and remembered by his grandchildren.
Dan was born in Pasadena, California. As a boy he rode his bike all over town with his brother Luther. When Dan was 11 years old, Estella decided to move the family to Northwood, Iowa. Dan flourished bringing an old Model T Ford home at age 15 to rebuild. Curiosity and the ability to build anything mechanical were his gifts. After graduating from Bradley University he met Ann. They married and moved to California, where Dan served as a Captain in the Marine Corp and was stationed at Camp Pendleton.
After serving, Dan and Ann moved to the foothills of San Diego where they raised their children. Dan had a fantastic imagination and was a great storyteller. He loved being involved in all sorts of activities with his kids and the family had many wonderful adventures together. Dan and his partner started Shaw and Little, Inc a San Diego full-service gasoline pump and station repair business which they operated successfully for 30 years.
Later in life Dan became an active member of the Kiwanis where he met and married Joyce Little. They had a wonderful life in Temecula. Together they traveled the world and drove an RV all over the U.S. They also enjoyed flying his Ballanca Viking airplane domestically to visit family and friends. He loved to fly and had over 1000 hours in the pilot seat. At home they enjoyed hosting holiday events with their family.
Services honoring Dan will be held Saturday, June 3rd at the Chateau at Harveston, 40024 Harveston Dr. Temecula. A 10:15 am Coffee Reception: 11am Celebration of life. All friends and family are welcome.
