Van Teachout Pirtle, age 95, passed away on Monday, August 23, 2021 at Stones River Manor Advanced Care. Mr. Pirtle was born November 26, 1925, in Donelson, Tennessee, to the late Evander and Laurena Tucker Pirtle. He is survived by his sons, Gary Pirtle and his wife Vicki of West Palm Beach, FL, Danny Pirtle and his wife Lisa of Murfreesboro and Keith Pirtle and his wife Regina of Rockvale; grandchildren, Heather Pirtle Wikert and her husband Jason of Port Angeles, WA, Christopher Pirtle and his wife Shirley of Oxnard, CA, Jennifer Pirtle, Bethany Pirtle Wood and her husband Josh of Murfreesboro, Jessica Pirtle Kidwell and her husband Adam of Georgetown, KY, Mark Pirtle and his wife Mary Leigh of Franklin, TN, Kim Pirtle Jackson and her husband Micheal of Murfreesboro, Danielle Leonard and husband Rick of Rockvale and Ryan Vincion of Huntsville, AL; and 16 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Pirtle was preceded in death by his wife Jimmie Neal Pirtle, his brothers, James and Eldridge Pirtle, his sisters, Mary Katherine Pirtle Sharp and Laurene Joyce Pirtle and great grandson Jacob Daniel Wood.
Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Pirtle will be at Two O’clock the afternoon of Friday, August 27, 2021, following a visitation period from Twelve Noon until service time at Roselawn Funeral Home with Tim Mitchell and Nicholas Jones officiating. Placement will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Pirtle was retired from American Airlines and was a founding member of Blackman Church of Christ. He enjoyed gardening and was devoted to his family.
