Mary Ann Comer

Mary Ann King Comer, age 92, of Smyrna, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday morning, August 28, 2022. A native of Rutherford County, TN, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Eugene Comer to whom she was married for 42 years. She was the daughter of the late Joe H. King, Jr and Evielee Hunter Murphy. She is survived by son, Ralph Comer (David Thomerson) of Brentwood; daughter, Brenda Comer Trabant of Smyrna, TN; grandson, Jeremy Reed (Fiancé Loren White) of Gallatin, TN and granddaughter, Brigitte Rippy, great grandson, Isaiah Rippy; great great granddaughter, Aliyah Rippy all of Manchester, TN; brothers, Clyde Murphy of Murfreesboro, TN and Joe L. King of Double Springs, AL. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother, Bobby Murphy of Mt Juliet, TN.

She was a life-long homemaker, a lover and caretaker of every creature great and small, and a wonderful cook. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rutherford County Pet Adoption & Welfare Services (PAWS) 285 John R. Rice Boulevard, Murfreesboro, TN 37129

A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Comer will be at Two O’clock the afternoon of Wednesday, August 31, 2022, at Roselawn Funeral Home with Rev John Hilley officiating. Friends are cordially invited to visitation also Wednesday afternoon from Twelve noon until the service begins at Two O’clock also at Roselawn Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Timothy Murphy, Terry Murphy, Jeremy Reed, Robert Lannom, Alan Scheuers and Isaiah Rippy.
