Margaret I. "Pete" Harris

Margaret I. “Pete” Harris age 89 of Nashville, Tennessee passed away peacefully on December 14, 2023. She was born in Lascassas, Tennessee the daughter of the late Katie and Paul Shipp. After graduating from Lascassas High School she married James Harris and became a devoted wife and mother to support his military career through many moves and adventures. She was a star basketball player at Lascassas High and enjoyed sewing, crafting, reading, games, & crossword puzzles. Most of all she loved being around her family. She was very intelligent and kept her sense of humor right up until the end.

She recently moved to the Morning Pointe community in Richmond, Kentucky where she was very happy and was loved by all.

Survivors include her children, Kathy Juarez & husband Fred of Schertz, TX, Jamie and husband John Jones of Berea, KY and her son Keith Harris of Nashville, TN. She was preceded in death by her husband James and a beloved son, Kevin Harris, who died while serving as a missionary in Brazil. She has five grandchildren, Danielle, Amy, Valerie, Katie and Benjamin and five great grandchildren Ben, Liam, Ollie, Ajeya and Ahana. She also has many cousins, nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

The family would be honored for you to join a celebration of her life by sharing your special memories and stories. A visitation will be Thursday, December 21, 2023 from 12 noon to 2 p.m. at Roselawn Memorial Chapel in Murfreesboro, TN. Graveside services will follow at 2 p.m.

The family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider in lieu of flowers donating in Margaret’s name to a local food bank or other charity.
