Joyce Faye Magoon

Joyce Faye (Scott) Magoon, 79, from Cordova, Tennessee, passed away December 17, 2024 from a long illness. Visitation will be Sunday, December 22nd from 2- 5 PM at Roselawn Funeral Home in Murfreesboro, TN. Funeral service will be on Monday, December 23rd at 10 AM also at Roselawn Funeral Home.

Joyce was born on April 7, 1945 in Murfreesboro, TN to Walter and Alma Scott. She was a guard for the Lascassas Pantherettes basketball team during her high school years. She is married to Richard Magoon (CMSGT USAF Ret.) for 56 years. They have two children, Michael and Michele and four grandchildren, Connor, Owen, Ethan, and Ella. Joyce enjoyed the 24 years that she and husband Richard (Dick) spent in the Air Force, moving to several states including Hawaii. Joyce was the kindest person you could ever meet, she always put family and friends first and would give you the shirt off her back. She worked hard all her life and her family is her proudest achievement.

Joyce is survived by her husband, Richard Magoon, and her two children, Michael (Tracy) Magoon of Charlotte, NC and Michele (Stephen) Wright of Bartlett, TN. She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Walter and Alma Scott, three brothers Dorris Scott, Robert Scott, and Jerry Scott all of Murfreesboro, TN.
