James Calvin Douthit

James Calvin Douthit, age 68, of Smyrna, passed away on Saturday morning at Vanderbilt Medical Center. Mr. Douthit was the son of the late Frank and Elizabeth Harwell Douthit. He is survived by his wife of more than 48 years, Mary Douthit; daughters, Tammy (Alvin) Rollins and Tonya (Chad) Young; grandchildren, Brandon and Austin Rollins, Ashley and Olivia Douthit, and Ethan, Benjamin and Isabella Young; and great granddaughter, Abigaile Lynn Zeltner. Services to celebrate Mr. Douthit will be at Eleven O’clock the morning of Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at Rutherford County Baptist Church with Pastor Paul Chisgar officiating. Placement will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Mr. Douthit was preceded in death by his son, Dewayne Douthit. For over 14 years Mr. Douthit was an active member of Rutherford County Baptist Church. He was an accomplished marksman and loved to create beautiful objects from wood. He also enjoyed fishing.
