Gayle Lynne Wood

Gayle Lynne Wood, age 63, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital. Gayle was the daughter of the late E.J. and Mary Catherine Dickinson Gillard. She is survived by her husband, William L. “Bill“ Wood; daughter, Jennifer N. Edmondson and her husband, Chad; brothers, Johnny Gillard and his wife Debbie and Glenn Gillard; grandchildren, Evan Ray Edmondson and Ava Edmondson. She was preceded by sister, Rose Marie Wood and brother, Greg Gillard.

Private Services to celebrate Mrs. Wood will be on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Roselawn Funeral Home with placement to follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Wood was a native of Lake Charles, LA and lived thirty-one years in Nashville before she and Bill moved to Murfreesboro in 2018 to be closer to their daughter, Jennifer and her family. While living in Nashville, she worked as a Pharmacy Technician at St. Thomas Hospital, then as a Member Service Representative at Nashville Fireman’s Credit Union and later retired from Farm Bureau Insurance.

She was known as a woman with a heart of gold, giving her all for others. She loved her family and adored her grandchildren. Her laughter and sense of humor brought joy to others and she never met a stranger. While she will be greatly missed, she will never be forgotten.
