Carolyn Jones Gardner

Mrs. Carolyn Jones Gardner, age 68, of Smyrna, TN formerly of Nashville, passed away on the morning of Sunday, February 3, 2019 at Stonecrest Medical Center. Mrs. Gardner was the daughter of the late Thomas Kelley Jones and Violet Rodefer Jones.

She is survived by her husband, Garnett L. Gardner, Jr.; sons, Patrick “Brian” Gardner and his wife, Crystal and David T. Gardner and his wife, Jenna; daughter, Kathi Beach and her husband Paul; granddaughter, Daelynn Gardner; grandsons, Jordan T. Gardner and Joshua Bugg and his wife, Kelly; sister, Bonnie Jones Harkins; and nephew, Evan Harkins.

Mrs. Gardner was preceded in death by a son, Garnett L. Gardner, III; granddaughter, Elizabeth Gardner; and grandparents, David and Violett Rodefer. Services to celebrate Carolyn will be at One O’clock the afternoon of Thursday, February 7, 2019 at Roselawn Funeral Home with Daniel Miree officiating. Placement will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Gardner grew up in Blountville, Tennessee and received her Master’s Degree from the University Of Tennessee, Knoxville and she worked for 10 years for the State of Tennessee Department of Human Services as a statewide Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor. Carolyn loved the go to the lake on the weekends with her husband, she was a faithful fan of her grandson Jordan as he played baseball and she found great enjoyment supporting her ballerina granddaughter, Daelynn as Carolyn was a ballerina too in her younger years.

Pallbearers will be Jordan Gardner, Joshua Bugg, Brian Gardner, Justin Grimsley, John Jansen and Scott Haley.
