Bobby J. Brown, age 92, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2024 at his home. Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his wife of more than 50 years, Peggy Brown. Mr. Brown in survived by his son, Allen Keith Brown; daughter, Therese Brown; grandchildren, Tina Brown, Amanda Brown and Susan Shelton; and great grandchildren, Brandyn, Carter and Eva Brown, Sonora and Cylas Smith and Will and Sara Shelton. He was preceded in death by siblings Lorene, Gladys, Ted, Jack, Leroy, Jake and Odell. A memorial service to celebrate Mr. Brown will be at Twelve noon on Monday, January 15, 2024 at Roselawn Funeral Home with Jamie Huffman officiating. Friends are cordially invited to visitation also on Monday, January 15, 2024 beginning at Ten O’clock until the service begins at Twelve noon.
Mr. Brown proudly served his country during the Korean War in the United States Army. During his service in Korea, he helped construct landing strips for vital supplies and troop transportation. Following his service, he worked as a printer for the newspaper in Springfield, Illinois and also for the Tennessean when the family moved to Tennessee. Along with his wife Peggy, he owned and operated the TriWay Market at the crossroads in Leanna for over 35 years. He and Peggy worked tirelessly to help provide goods for their community.
