surrounded by loved ones. He was born in Muncie on February 27, 1932, the son of Howard and Evelyn Skeen.
Bill retired from The Star Press newspaper after 42 years of hard work and dedication. After retiring he volunteered at Ball Memorial Hospital for over 20 years. He also volunteered on the Cardinal Greenway, which he loved to ride bikes on with his wife.
Bill loved and respected all living things. He loved nature, especially the Great Smoky Mountains and Mt. LeConte where he and his family often vacationed and hiked. Bill also loved playing classical guitar and composing his own songs.
Most of all though, Bill loved his family. He would tell anyone who would listen how proud he was of his family. He met his lovely wife, Jane, when they were just 11 and 12 years old and started dating, got married at 19 and 20, and stayed happily married and deeply in love for 72 years. Together they created a wonderful, loving family that Bill enjoyed many happy memories with.
Bill is survived by his beautiful, loving wife Jane; daughter Lola Grimaldi, husband Jack; two grandchildren Angela Crouse, husband Dave, and John Grimaldi, wife Brooke; and three great-grandchildren William, Ethan, and Emma.
He was preceded in passing by his parents; brother, Joe; and daughter, Evelyn.
Elm Ridge Funeral Home has been entrusted with his arrangements.
