Robert Lee Hines Jr.

He was born Monday, March 13, 1939, in Hartford City, the son of Robert and Dorothy (Smith) Hines. Robert enjoyed nature and being outside. He loved working in his garden, mowing his yard, and feeding and watching the birds. Robert was a “handyman” and was known as Mr. Fix-it to family and friends.

Survivors include his wife of thirty-nine years, Karen (Horine) Hines; six sons, Bob Hines, Tom Hines, Micah Hines, Paul (wife, Melissa) Hines, Kyle (wife, Lori) Pickering; and Kurt (wife, Jennifer) Pickering; daughter, Kathy Kuntz; six sisters, Rosa (husband, John) Ruth, Julia (husband, Mike) Mallott, Janie (friend, Bob) Harker, Debra (husband, Tony) Hicks, Cathy (friend, Ray) Brown, and Theresa McCoin; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces; and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Dorothy Hines; daughter, Cindy Tull; sisters, Mary Hutchens, and Sharon Phillips; three brothers, David Hines, John Hines, and Phillip Hines; and a great-grandson, Dylan Stead.

Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 8, 2020, at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana 47304. Burial will follow in Elm Ridge Memorial Park.

Family and friends may call from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Elm Ridge Funeral Home.
