Nancy Lynn Sipe

Nancy Lynn Sipe, 76, Chesterton, Indiana, passed away Thursday evening, June 15, 2023, at her home. She was born Thursday, October 31, 1946, in Muncie, the daughter of John L. and Martha (Carter) Sipe. Nancy was a fiercely loving grandma and enjoyed spending time with her family, above all, any of her grandkids’ activities. She was an avid sports fan, especially anything Boston Celtics and Larry Bird and all Purdue Boilermaker sports. Nancy had a passion for dogs for the sight impaired and her own canine companions. Growing up on North Twin Lake in Howe, Indiana, she had a love for the water. Nancy was a Licensed Practical Nurse and received her Master’s Degree in Social Work from IUPUI. Survivors include her daughter, Dr. Kimberly L. (husband, Max) Brunt; son, Christian John (wife, Stacie) Coder; three grandchildren, Carter Brunt, Grant Brunt, and Ellery Brunt; and her canine companion, Tucker. Her parents, John L. and Martha Sipe, and her brother, John “Skip” Sipe, preceded her in death. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at Elm Ridge Memorial Park, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana 47304 with her son, Christian John Coder, officiating. Burial will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made in Nancy’s honor to Leader Dogs for the Blind at leaderdog.org or to Service Dogs for PTSD or other conditions at DAV.org.
