Michael Lee Digman, 53, of Muncie, went to be with his Lord and Savior on March 15, 2025, after a brief illness. He was born on February 2, 1972, in Lafayette, Indiana, to Charles Michael Digman and Viola (Briles) Digman-Willmann. On April 20, 2013, he married Julie Hawkins in Hartford City, Indiana, and she survives.
Michael graduated from Muncie Southside High School in 1990. He worked for Stellantis (Chrysler) at the Kokomo Casting Plant for 25 years as a Tool Maker. Michael loved the ocean; he loved fishing and being on his pontoon. He was a great protector and caretaker, always taking care of his family. Michael was a very generous man, and he would provide for those he loved, even if he didn’t always agree with them. He loved his family with his whole heart, especially his grandbabies. On April 24, 2015, at 3 am, Michael was saved by the grace of God and continued to live everyday serving his Lord.
Michael is survived by his loving wife of 12 years, Julie; mother and step-father, Viola and Steve Willmann; children, Ashley (Aaron) Smith, Robert Jesse Digman, and Kaitlyn (Cameron) Sager; grandchildren, Christian Digman, Azariah Smith, Hayden Sager, and Nathan Sager; sisters, Michelle (Scott) Jones, Melinda (Darren) Habegger, and Monica (Phillip) West; as well as his father-in-law, and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at 2 pm, at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 W. Kilgore Ave., Muncie, IN 47304, with Chaplain Terry Lindsay officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 12:30 pm until the time of the service on Saturday, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans or the American Cancer Society.
