Linda L. Smith

She was born in Muncie, Indiana, on November 18, 1952, the daughter of Robert and Emma Jane (Jones) McFarland. She graduated from Muncie Southside High School in 1971. She married Dennis Smith on August 21, 1971, and they celebrated fifty years together.

Lucy worked as a cook for Pizza King for ten years, Westminster for seven years, and Muncie Community Schools for two years. She enjoyed going to Wal-Mart and shopping. She had a love for cooking that brought all her family and friends together. Her favorite holiday was Thanksgiving, and her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were her world. She will be deeply missed.

Lucy is survived by her loving husband, Dennis; children, Heidi (Michael) Brooks, Dennis “PeeWee” (Cecilia) Smith; sisters, Patty Denny, Connie (Terry) Burns, and Brenda (Dave) King; brothers, Mike (Ruth) Conrad, Timmy (Lola) Conrad, and Jimmy (Glenda) Shipman; grandchildren, Austin (Kaylee), Blake, Cheyenne (Riley), and Alyssa (Josh) Taylor; great-grandchildren, Mason and Wyatt; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Emma Jane McFarland and her parents-in-law Eugene and Mildred Smith.

Friends and family may call on Monday, October 11, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana 47304.

Services will be on Monday, October 11, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at Elm Ridge Funeral Home. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, masks are required as well as social distancing.
